Multiple fire departments responded to a fire near Hackett early Thursday Morning.

A woman called the Sebastian County Sheriff?s Office at approximately 4:09 a.m. Thursday, according to dispatchers.

The fire sparked at a two story home two miles south of Hackett near Highway 45.

She told authorities she could see black smoke coming from her home, and was instructed by them to stay outside of the home until firefighters arrived.? The caller told? dispatchers she had 10 cats and one dog inside the home when the fire started.

Hackett Fire Chief Jim Carter said everyone inside, including the pets made it out okay.

No one was injured in the fire, according to Chief Carter. He said it took crews about 15-20 minutes to put out the fire.? Initially he said there was concern the flames could have spread to rooms upstairs.

?We had trouble locating the stairwell.? We were real worried it would spread upstairs, we finally did locate that early on, and it hadn?t spread upstairs. We contained it to two rooms in the back of the house,? said Chief Carter.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Chief Carter said it appears to have originated from a wall heater.

Four fire departments responded to the fire.? They included Hackett, Midland, Bonanza, and EMP Rural Fire Departments.
